Re: Which do you prefer??????????????????????????????

I prefer to sit just because its more comfortable, and I can last longer in the stand. But I feel more comfortable shooting from a standing position, so if at all possible I try to stand up while a deer is coming in. You know, wait till he's behind a tree and he can't see my movement.

Re: Which do you prefer??????????????????????????????

I've shot a lot more deer with my bow from a sitting position, than I have standing. It a ground blind, I have no choice, but in a treestand, I prefer to remain seated, unless I see the deer coming a long ways off and have the opportunity to stand without getting busted.

It doesn't really maatter to me, sitting or standing.

Re: Which do you prefer??????????????????????????????

It really doesn't matter to me with a compound bow in a tree stand. I spend about as much time standing as I do sitting so it just depends on how I'm positioned when a deer approaches. In a ground blind I always shoot from a sitting position. With a recurve, I have to stand up.

Re: Which do you prefer??????????????????????????????

I suppose it depends on the apex of the sun to the horizon as my vertical hemulater stretches. Seriously though... I practice in every position I can think of that might become a reality in the woods. I like to keep my options open. The first deer I ever shot was sitting down and shooting backwards and it only went 40 yards. After that I made sure that I practiced from every possible position.
