my grandpa made a real mistake last year. he let a fox raise a whole litter of pups right behind his house and he wouldnt let us shoot em cuz he thought they were "cute". we he is regreting it now. this year we saw i think 3 pheasants on his place all year and in the past it has been a pretty good place to hunt. well this year we are declaring war. i know wehre the two dens are and im going to go out wtih my spot light and red lens but he wants me to use a shotgun cus there is houses around. but what size shot should i use that is good for out to 40-50 yards? any info will help. thanx

Re: what shot size?

Right on! BB, BBB, #2. Nothing bigger. Pattern wont be dense enough. And you can miss at longer ranges.

Try to find copper plated lead but plain lead will work. Copper plated penetrates better.

If you don't care about cost get some bbb or bb tungsten waterfowl loads. I can tell you from personal experience that these will definately roll a dog.

Have fun! and post some pics.
