My father went to the DEC information meeting last night, about the CWD found in the neighboring town. The DEC said, 25% of the index herd was infected, after they killed and tested them. One deer from the index herd was transferred to another farm, and is unaccounted for. They can not find the deer which was transferred and there is a possibility it escaped or was released into the wild. The DEC does not know if the deer was infectd, but with laws of probability, there is a 25% chance it was. This is bad. I will get more details from last night meeting and post them.
