I Saw A Bald Eagle

I don't know it's probably not a big deal but it was really neat to see!

A friend had seen it friday and then saturday called and said it was at the same place. So we ran up there, only like 3 miles away. He was eating something dead out in a field. It was raining and starting to snow so I'm sure he didn't look his best. But he had a white head! I think that means he;s an older bird.

It was very cool in my thoughts, Sorry I didn't have a camera!

Re: I Saw A Bald Eagle

We've been seeing more and more of them around here.

About 3 or 4 years ago as my buddy and I were bringing in our duck deeks we spoiled a bald eagle's final approach on what he thought was going to be an easy meal. That eagle got within 10 yards of us before he figured out the ducks were fake, but we weren't. grin.gif

Re: I Saw A Bald Eagle

I have seen many of them out here, usually when fishing.

I was fortunate enough to see two Bald Eagles clutched in a death spiral, release before they hit the water and do it two more times. It was an amazing site.

I have seen them take fish out of the water, and fight a seagul for a dead fish.

They are amazing in size.

Re: I Saw A Bald Eagle

When I was younger I rarely seen them but in the last few years (especially this year) I have seen a slew of them! Beautiful birds.... And yes the white head means they are mature birds.

My brother and I watched some dive bomb ducks years back. To date that was one of the coolest things ive ever seen....

Re: I Saw A Bald Eagle

Speaking of seeing a Eagle. On my way into work today, I saw one sitting on the ice by my in-laws house. I didn't think they would be back in that nest yet.

I tried looking for his shanty, but remembered they had to be off the ice last month.
