Although this may sound like a good idea...its not Realtree's position to be responsible for anything that is privately sold on the forums. The idea of a rating feedback could start forum members bashing other forum members and we "ALL" know that is a no no! I know its nice to do a search on a user name to see what his/her history is on selling and buying transactions. I used this feature a lot over on archerytalk. We need to be more accountable to each other when making Internet deals back and forth. You know what would be a good idea, to save the thread from turning nasty, is to have a thread in the classifieds pinned to the top, where members could just put there name in there if they have made a deal with someone, and the name of the person they dealt with. Something like this: Buyer ....................................Seller ------------------------------------------- Buckee- bought bow-site from - Snapper Popgun- bought blind from - VT bowman It could be up-dated from time to time by the moderator, to keep everything in one post, for easier access. That way, if someone is making a deal with someone for something, and feels awkward, they can ask someone who is on the list, that has dealt with that particular person before, what the transaction was like and if there were any problems they should be concerned about. It would work in reverse to find out about promp payments. That would keep the thread clean and give us all an avenue of enquiring info from other members. What do you think ?? It is feedback that keeps sellers and buyers, honest in online transactions. All you have to do is look at Ebay, or AT. This seems to work real well on the Predator Masters Classified section of their forums. They have a thread pinned in the classifieds room called "The Good Guys Report". I've given plenty of things away, and have received so much from all you guys--monetarily and inspirationally. IMHO--exchanging of money just brings potential bad feelings, broken friendships and bad blood between a lot of good folks--not just the ones involved. I have purchased a few things off members here and it was great! Then one time I got burnt and I think that it was a rotten deal. I purchased an item and exchanged addresses and then was told the next day (after I was told the item was mine) that it was sold to someone else at a higher price. [/ QUOTE ] There is exactly my point...if something like this is posted, then someone else would ask you "who was it?" and then there will be a snowball effect and could lose members because of a deal gone bad. Like I said before...the idea isn't bad, but you can't compare our little classified to ebay. This site's classifieds adds are just like you see in the news papers...buyer and seller assumes all risks. I don't think Realtree wants to have any kind of responsiblity in this? I think that if people are starting to get screwed over in the classifieds section, then maybe a feedback would be sensible thing to do. getting rid of it is definatley not the answer, that's just taking the easy way out IMO. You know...the more I think about the whole classifieds room and the reason this post came about...I think I'd rather see the entire room just gone. The room is there to try and help members out with some deals...but if its so much trouble...maybe we could just wipe that room out and everyone could go to ebay to buy and sell things.
