Yep it's happened to me before.

I was shooting my bow at that time at 70lbs. I took off to my hunting area and got set up. It was super cold that morning to. I can remember that we had a good chance of snow that morning also. It wasn't 30 min. later when I had about a 150 class buck step into my shooting lane, not more then 15 yards from me.

I got stood up, started to draw the bow back and it was like my arms locked up in mid draw. I tried and tried to get it back and it wasn't going to happen.

With me in the tree struggling like crazy that seemed like for ever. It was like that buck knew he wasn't going to get shot that day. As a matter of fact he rubbed a small cedar tree and made a scrape next to it and then started feeding around the tree I was in...lol

After that I shot a low poundage bow. I went from 70lbs. to 60lbs.

Yep, same here.

Had my bow at 70# for the first time. Was shooting in great during practise sessions.

But that afternoon, I sat cramped and chilly, watching this buck over my shoulder, up on the hill for a good 2 hours, before he finally came wandering down past my blind. There he was, 15 yrds, and I tried pulling that thing back 3 different times. I was sure I had grass or a twig stuck in the wheel or Cam.

I finally got up and left in disgust with myself. Even tried pulling it back again, when I got to the truck, but no dice.

Got home...checked it all over...tried it again and everything was just fine....LOL

I got mine back around 65# now.

Cold and cramped muscles sure can fool you.

I had it happen once or twice. Wanted to take a shot with all my might but it just wasn't gonna happen, not accurately anyway.
