carbonhunter
Tonight was one of those afternoons where everything felt right. There was a bit of nip in the air and whe wind was right, decided to make my move on acouple of bucks that have been cruis'in back in a local bedding area. I got off work and rushed around to be in the 4'oclock. I moved my climber in to a little clearing i had set up just for thise hunt....back in like sept. This spot is tough to hunt because its so far back in the bedding area that the deer start to move pretty early...like 4:45 at the latest, A little brook runs through a little clearing thats about 40 yards by 40 yards a little scrub brush in the middle and all in the middle of the best funnel ever. I was pumped, worked the climber up the tree ever so silenty, get to about twenty five feet and get all set up. Little no scent spray and just take a seat and look around, it didn't take long as i hear somthing crashing around about 90 yards out and moving fairly steadly towards me. I grabbed my pull up rope and start hauling, the bow is attached by a D-clip to the limb. At about 60 yards i can make out a doe hotsteping on one of the trails coming threw the brush, and whatever is behind her is just thrashing. My bow is about 20 feet off the ground and i stand up and get ready to grab the bow and nock an arrow, just as the bow nears the base of my stand the line goes limp, I watched my bow plummit 20 feet down to the ground and BOUNCE off a tree stump. The line i was using had broken i was left standing there in thr tree with a three foot frayed rope. Everything looked fine from above but when i got to the bottom of the tree i found my Trophy ridge Matrix in three seperate pieces, the bow looked all right, i looked the limbs over and such no cracks, shot an arrow nothing unusuale. But the site is another matter. I went to the local shop and picked up a flatliner site for like 26 bucks and the bracket fits the Actually site window and pin arrangment just fine the vibration dampner even fit inside. I avoided ending my bow season(well i think i have we will find out during some target practice tomarrow) But not a great experiance, the deer just froze and stared at the grey blob screaming vile trash and forest floor, turned and gave me the wonderful white finger. Some days i just cant buy a bucket.

SRTMO
Re: ARRRGGGHHHH Atleast you didn't drop a nice browning A-Bolt, crack the stock in half, and break your $800 scope beyond repair. It could have been worse. Atleast you are up and running again. Sorry to hear you luck.

[/ QUOTE ] i actually kind of agree, the actually site window was still in one piece but everything else was beyond repair. On the other side i DID drop it twenty feet or so straight on to a root. I like the vertical pins though, and i dont really know what i wold get that is on the market right now.
