Tominator
Do pheasants make and visit dust pits like turkeys do? I was out poking around for ground hogs last night and ran across two little pits that appeared to be miniature turkey dusting stations. The only thing I can figure is it's the pheasant that have been hanging around that are making them. I'll get pics if you want to see them. Tominator
Re: Do They? Here's the pics I took. I put a book of matches in the one pit to give you a frame of size referance. I hope you can see the pics, I can't today for some reason, but my computer's been acting up for some time now. Ohiobucks
Re: Do They? Looks like you found the spot where all the house flies congregate at night. Looks like a "fly mosh pit" to me. Looks like there are two in the top photo still hanging out. Of course, I have an untrained eye for these types of things...........but you can rest easy now, buddy! [/ QUOTE ] Good eye Tom. Actually, what you're seeing there is either fawn pellets, or woodchuck pellets, or baby rabbit pellets, couldn't tell. Should have eaten one I guess. I found another dusting pit today next to my food plot. I saw a hen fly into that plot last night whilst I was lounging in my hammock.
