Re: ebay

Joe;

Ebay charges a listing fee, and a fee based on the final auction value of the item you sold. Here is the fees.

ebay seller fees

to sell you have to be registered with a credit card to verify your identity.

Hope this helps. It is a great place to get a lot of exposure for an item you are selling. For the most part the fees are reasonable. They really hit you when you accept payment using paypal. They take a percentage of that too.

Re: ebay

I sold some golf clubs for $125. Here's the fees I was charged:

3 Pictures Fee $0.30 (first is free, 15 cents each additional)

Buy It Now Listing Fee $0.25

Insertion Fee $2.40

Value Fee $4.06

Sure, this cost me $7, but I doubt I could have sold them without Ebay.

Not sure about the SS# thing. We signed up 5 years ago and have never had a issue with Ebay as a company allowing any of our personal info out.

Re: ebay

Squirrel,

It depends on the price you've sold the item for. If I remember right, they charge you a fee for listing the item then they get a percentage of what you sell the item for. I think there cut begins at 5.25%. For example, if you sell an item for $150.00, E-Bay takes something like $12.00 (includes you listing fee). As for the social security #, I don't know about that. I do know they will want your bank information so they can transfer the funds owed to you right to your bank. E-Bay uses a secure payment system called PayPal. It works pretty slick. I've bought several items off E-Bay lately, got some good deals. I picked up a $400 Renegade Bow for $150 about a month ago.

Hope that helps. smirk.gif

Re: ebay

Ebay would definately be the spot for you to sell your caller. I signed up in October and have had a blast ever since mostly selling but also buying a few things. Its not true about your social security #. All you need is a credit card.

Do they use the credit card info at all or do they just use it to make sure you are who you say you are?

I think it is more so for they to know that you are legit and stuff. You also need the credit card number if you want to sign up for a paypal account. I have had no trouble at all...
