Re: Growing Food Plot Pics...

as you plant more you will learn what does and doesn't work.

let what you planted provide some summer forage then late summer disc it under and plant you a mixture of wheat, rye grain, winter peas, and turnips---then you will have a great winter annual plot.

Re: Growing Food Plot Pics...

todd, we don't have access to farming equipment and stuff like that. All of our foodplots were torn up by hand, doing donuts in 2WD on the quad. We planted a clover mix from Tecomate. All we have is a quad and some determination. These plots are planted in an area where there is little to no forage for the deer during the fall/winter. The mast production hasn't been good the last few years and we are doing our best to keep the apple trees trimmed and fertilized. As a matter of fact, the apple trees are showing their first apples. The only things for the deer to eat in the area are the apples and corn everyone throws out the night before opening day and the loral. We are trying, but nobody else believes in foodplots.
