45 cal.

I've been thinking of getting a 45 cal. ML. Does anyone use one? What are the benifits/drawbacks?

A .45 caliber M/L is fine, but I think you'd be happier with a .50 caliber. You can shoot .452" Sabots in your .50.

My dad shot his biggest deer ever with a .45 cal, flinter. It did the job with a well placed shot at about 30 yards. It will be easier to find accesories and ammo for a 50 cal though.

My kentuckian long barrell is 45cal and i'am very pleased with it, but love my TC50 for the all around use and the kick butt! hit power.Hope i helped.

Do to the lightness of a .45 round ball it is not top on the list of todays hunters and that someone said let there be a .50 and now you can get that ammo anyware.

I don't think a ML kicks at all so recoil is not a problem but I like the big heavy bullets of the .54 and .58 but that is just me.

The only deer that I have lost was from a .50 in-line with a 240 gr .44 cal sabot. I did get the bullet, my friend killed it with a round ball from a .50 and I have not shot a in-line sense.
