ilhnter
I just found out that the land that surrounds the farm i hunt on is being run by an outfitter. Good news because now chance to see more bucks on the farm i hunt.. Good news to hear before deer season. Good luck this fall all!!

ilhnter
Re: Just got great news!!!!!!!!! I would go talk to them about trails from their land to the land we hunt but they are a bunch of ****holes. I've been checked by game wardens because they called and said we were tresspassing, which we were not. They won't even allow us to cross onto their property to recover a wounded deer sooooo, i'm not going to talk to them about nothing. Just hope to kill all their big deer and piss them off. Good luck this fall all!!!

Rhino
Re: Just got great news!!!!!!!!! [ QUOTE ] They won't even allow us to cross onto their property to recover a wounded deer [/ QUOTE ] WHAT! I haven't hunted in a state yet that didn't allow you to recover your game, even on other property. You have a duty to attempt to recover your game. You just have to leave your weapon on your property. You ought to get in touch with the game warden that came by to check you and talk to him about that. Might as well make buddies with him anyway. Sounds like you'll be seeing more of him.
ilhnter
Re: Just got great news!!!!!!!!! Ohh yea i'm sure we'll see more of the game warden. We will go onto their property to recover a deer if we know it is close to the line, but they have made it clear that they don't want us on their land for any reason what so ever. We haven't lost a deer that ran onto their property but we have never had to track one but maybe 30 yds onto their land. Sooo hopefully we won't, but if we do i'll go ask again and hope this time they say yes. He can go with me if we wants as long as he lets me recover my deer. Guest RJK
Re: TRESPASSING What's so great about hunting land being leased up, especially by an outfitter? Yeah it may be great for you, the number of big deer you see may go up, but for the sport as a whole this is terrible news. JMO
Guest MCDillinois
Re: TRESPASSING Hunting close to property lines is sometimes unavoidable but for me, I like to leave the boundaries alone. If my neighbors are putting the heat on the deer, I like to give the deer some breathing room and come on in. In fact, I pinpoint on my topigraphical the best possible stand locations so I can get in and out without spooking deer, or at least, keeping it to a minimal. And a word of advise....I ALWAYS stay in touch with my neighboring hunters.....first I extend the invitation that they may retrieve wounded game on my land and I give them my number should it happen. And in return they ALWAYS return the favor. Give it a try...it works.
ilhnter
Re: TRESPASSING I understand what you all are saying about getting to know your neighbors, but we were kind to them and they are hateful to us. The farmer we hunt on owned around 400 - 500 acres and he sold some of it off to this guy. Well this guy bought it for the purpose of using it as an outfitter. So he wanted us to stay off it and didn't want us on it at all. Then he started having the warden check us for no reason and had the warden stress to us to stay on our own land and not tresspass. The neighbor and the warden have no reason to tell us that becuase we have never tresspassed at all.....ever.
