hutchies
Got a Simmons Aetec 2.8-10X44. Seems real clear. I know someone on here had recommended them a while back and I have to agree they are worth a look.
christsavedme
Re: Simmons Aetec I have one of them and have mixed emotions with it. In an open field I love it....very clear and bright. But in the woods I don't like it as well.....for some reason mine has troble focusing on the object I want it to. For instance, if there is a limb in between me and the deer, it will focus on the limb and the deer is real fuzzy. Don't know if it is just the one I got or what, but that is about the only thing I don't like about it! JMO
hutchies
Re: Simmons Aetec That sounds like maybe the way your eye is focusing looking thru the scope. Maybe AJ can answer that.
AJ
Re: Simmons Aetec CSM, It sounds like your branch is in the range the scope is focused for. If the scope has an adjustable objective you can adjust the distance the image becomes clear. You can also adjust the focus on a fixed objective scope by adjusting the eye piece. Beware you can screw up the paralax setting by just mesing around. Hutchies, I have more than a few Simmons scopes and they have not let me down. They are not quite as clear and bright as some others, but they are not near the price. AJ
christsavedme
Re: Simmons Aetec AJ...I have tried focusing with the eye piece and that didn't work. And it isn't just me, I have let several others look through it because I thought that maybe it was just me, and they have the same problem. Is there any other way to adjust the focus that i don't know about. It doesn't have the adjustable objective on it! THanks, Josh

preacherman
Re: Simmons Aetec $99, that is indeed a good, I mean, great deal on a Simmons Aetec. Have a buddy of mine that will only put these scopes on his gun. He loves them and kills a lot of deer.
AJ
Re: Simmons Aetec CSM, The focusing takes quite a few turns of the eye piece. It is not a quarter turn or so do do a big change. It takes quite a bit.
christsavedme
Re: Simmons Aetec Thanks AJ......I will give it a try and see what happens....it can't hurt! and 99 dollars for that scope was a good buy. Like I said, I love mine in the fields, just not in the woods. Hopefully with AJ's advice that will all change soon.
