David_218 Posted July 12, 2005 Report Share Posted July 12, 2005 I received this "Forwarded e-mail" from a friend: BAD MOVE STARBUCKS!!! Starbucks Coffee Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support in their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. So as not to offend Starbucks, we should not support them by buying any of their products. As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for what they and I believe is right. If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. If it is true, they deserve to be boycotted. I don't drink the stuff anyways, it's pretty much liquid cocaine, and I can't bring myself to pay $5 for a cup of joe. Check it out yourself It's best to research emails like this one, so that stuff like this doesn't get spread around. Think of how many people read that email message, but never get the real story, now having an unwarranted hatred for an innocent company. Research info before passing it off as fact! I don't care for Starbucks coffee - Maxwell House tastes a lot better - but I'm not going to slam anyone just because their coffee taste bad. To be honest, i have never even tried starbucks before. i've saw a few shops in Ottawa, but everyone says its like $5 for a coffee, so i just stick with my Tim Hortons... I am a BIG Tim Horton's customer! i go there every morning on the way to work, and every evening for my coffee.
