IowaDeerHunter
I guess I can't say what our income (my parents) is because selling cars it varys year to year.Actually month to month. Some months we sell 2 cars, witch is WAY To low to even live off of. Then we have our months where we are selling 15+ cars and bringing in some more money than usual. Owning our own business has its pluses. Only our family works there so we don't have to pay someone to work for us, which saves a lot of money, and we can take off hunting whenever it works out for us. We do spend a lot on hunting. We do own almost 1000 acres in hunting ground in the Loess hills. Probably half is timber and the rest tillable with some CRP. But that pays itself off, by bringing in the money from the tillable. But yeah a lot of money goes toward hunting.

I just left a church where I spent 7 years of my life. I started out making $325 a week and then finally topped out 7 years later at $425 ($22,100).........my new church I make, counting a few little "extras" about $45,000 per year. VTbowman
Re: Very very personal... Our income is around &*K per year (work out the code) with me making well over 80% of that but our yearly bills are around 100K.. LOL So it seems anyways. I spend as little as possible on hunting. But even that is WAY more then my wife likes. LOL This will be my 1st year ever to go out of state to hunt and even stillits under $500 to go... hogwild63
Re: Very very personal... I gross about $35,200K a year. My wife makes about $10k a year P/T but does not work in the summer so does not get paid during those months so things are kind of thin right now. We are going camping (IN THIS HEAT!) this coming week because we can't afford a couple of days in a hotel and other "fun" stuff. I also lost my butt trying to sell life insurance about 7 years ago and am still smarting from that decision. As for spending money on hunting, I was fortunate to hunt on my Dad's lease for 15 years until about 2 years ago so my costs were minimal compared to what other people pay to hunt around here. I know someone who is paying over $1000 just for a spot on a lease. Since we lost our lease, I can't afford another place so I am dependent on the generosity of others and usually defer the hunting opportunity to my son if possible. But I could easily spend a couple a grand per year if I had the opportunity. My wife and I have really learned to be content with what we have so if I had an increase in salary, I probably could arrange to set aside money for a spot on a good lease me and my son both have an opportunity to take deer. I think everyone has their "hobby" in which they spend more money and time than they should but enjoy the distraction from the world...be it fishing, computers, electronic gadets, music, cars, etc. Sometimes the "gadets" are sold more to catch fishermen (or hunters) than to catch the fish (or insert game animal). ruttinbuc
Re: Very very personal... My middle name is "Spenjamoney" I wonder where it all goes and then I look around and wallah! I try to separate the wants from the needs, but it seems I need a lot of stuff. I am still boycotting the hunting industry because I REALLY DON"T NEED ANYTHING! Not even for my annual sojourn to the Midwest. Need all that money for gas. MY NEW JOY..... Its really good on gas, but **** on the shoulders! Guest MissouriHunter
Re: Very very personal... I am in college right now but even in college I make about 12,000 a year but after a truck payment and other bills each month it dwindles really fast so I spend quite a bit on hunting stuff since that is what I love but i know I don't spend near as much as some of the people in here. Tominator
Re: Very very personal... You really don't want to know what a teacher makes, it's depressing. I spend all my wife's money. Shaun_300
Re: Very very personal... I make around $20,000 a year. Not bad for an 18 year old who still lives at home. I'm still only an apprentice, next year i'll probably be making around $27,000 then once I get my Technician's license, i'll be up around $80,000. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Very very personal... 66K base salary. Depending on my performance and the income of the organization, I usually get another 5K or so in bonuses. I spend at least 10K annually on hunting. Probably another 5K on fishing.
