Squirrelhunter91
Re: the perfect day Jim pretty much hit it on the head there. That's what our rifle season is like. Real easy to see a deer against a snowy backdrop. Plus the temperature gets them moving.
SaskMan
Re: the perfect day I could list 2 perfect days, #1 would be what I enjoy most, calm, cold, snow falling on a foot of snow on the ground already. Just love to hunt in weather like that. #2 would be what it was like on both nights I killed my 200" bucks. Windy....really windy, and rainy. Just a plain old ugly day. Tominator
Re: the perfect day Perfect morning. Pick my buddy Tom up, we head to Danville, namely Carey Lane. He hunts the spot where he missed a 150 last year, I hunt the spot where I missed a 140 last year. The day is clear, cold, maybe 20 in the morning, warming to 35 in the day. A day like this and our rattling sequences seem to travel for miles. A very slight, slight breeze, just enough to keep it in your favor. Frost, I like frost, makes the leaves sound like "potato chips" according to Tom. This day one or both of us connect this time, but if not, tailgate down and we build some monster saaaaaammmmmmmiches and relate the morning's events. That's my perfect morning. lil hunter
Re: the perfect day I'm thinkin about 35 degrees, somewhat cloudy, slight wind. I Don't really like the real cold stuff, simply because i don't have any good cold weather clothes.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: the perfect day After a couple of days of really nasty weather - cold wind, rain - a clear calm morning with the temps about 30 or so.

Guest Bowhunter2114
Re: the perfect day slight breeze, dewy morning with a slight chill. The deer think they are smelling everything because Of the moist conditions but there is one thing they can't smell..... Me perched up 15 ft off the ground silent; bow at ready....... Shaun_300
Re: the perfect day [ QUOTE ] Sunny with about 2 - 3 inches of snow that fell early in the night. But not wet snow that sticks to the trees, because the watchers can't see or hear, and the chasers get soaked. cool (-5 C) and first monday of November. AHHHH... can't wait. [/ QUOTE ] Exact same as mine!
wtnhunt
Re: the perfect day [ QUOTE ] yeah snow is GREAT but we don't get alot of that in tenn lol [/ QUOTE ] Would be great to have a snow on the ground during hunting season, but just doesnt happen here. Best mornings here are the cool crisp mornings, the deer really move good during daylight when it is right around the freezing mark.
JoshM
Re: the perfect day 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground....35 degrees....And with the sun just peaking over the edge.
Sam16
Re: the perfect day I'd rather have 40 degree weather with a slight breeze (blowing just right for my stand), with a beautiful sunrise to my right and the frost is lifting off of the grass and bush in front of me. I love those mornings. No deer may show up, but thats ok, haha.
Steven
Re: the perfect day In Ga, a perfect day for hunting would be any day that's less than 80 degrees and 85% humidity. Sadly, we don't get many of those days until halfway thru the season.
buckbuster11
Re: the perfect day For an archery hunt I like 30 degrees, no wind, dry, mid november. For a rifle hunt I'll take 25-30 degrees, again no wind, and a few inches of snow on the ground and/or some falling from the sky.
Nosdog2
Re: the perfect day 20's, no wind, nice covering of snow on the ground and some flurries coming down.
VTbowman
Re: the perfect day Archery morning=Damp (rained that night) but in the 40s with no wind. Silent, Over cast to partly sunny (once sun rises). Colorful leave are falling and so are the acorns. Rifle=Mid November with 6" to 10" fo snow the night before, 25* to 30* F with slight breeze in one steady direction. Insert big rack buck here... FSU_Seminole
Re: the perfect day The perfect morning is the first week of November, bright sunny high pressure not a cloud in the sky with the temps in the high 30s to mid 40s. Throw in a dark moon & you will see bucks freely roaming with does.
