Re: RT Picture Post section queston?????

first thing is I've got to leave here pretty quick so I apologize first about jumping in and then not having time to stick around and seeing it through.

Here's an original that you uploaded, it's 72 dpi at 8.38 X 11.11 uncompressed file size is 1.38 megs, compressed size is 241 KB

Heres the same picture except automatically resized by picture post, it's 72 dpi at 6.29 X 8.33 uncompressed file size is 796 KB compressed size is 22.3 KB.

I would offer 2 suggestions - 1, keep your picture size closer to 6 X 8 which will help more than you think - 2, use more compression when saving your files. For instance i run photoshop and when I save a .jpeg file the highest quality i can have is = 100... I usually have it set to 35 - you loose some clarity but for internet use it's worked well.

Re: RT Picture Post section queston?????

I find the "paint" program that comes with your windows works great for resizing pics.

STEP #1 - RESIZING

Go to your picture folder on your PC where the picture is stored.

Right click on the picture

(left click)Open with "Paint"

left Cick on "Image"

left Click on "stetch/skew"

When the box comes up, change your hieght and width from 100% to 40 or 50% and left click on "OK".

Now, if you want to keep one picture of the original size for future developing and one of the downsized for the web, click "Save as"... re-name your picture and choose save as .jpg

When you name your picture, don't leave any spaces. example: - MoosePic2005 or moose_pic_2005

If your not interested in keeping the original format for future developing, go to "FILE" and click on "Save".You can always rename the picture by right clicking on it in your files and left clicking on "rename"
