markyj987
Anybody have any good luck charms or rituals they MUST partake in before hitting the woods on a deer hunt? For me, it'd have to be peanuts. I killed my first deer when he came over a hill--at the time, I was about to munch on some of them. lol
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Deer Hunting superstitions I can't always do it, but whenever possible I like to adhere to the old Indian tradition of eating some of the flesh of the type of animal I'm about to hunt the night before the hunt. preacherman
Re: Deer Hunting superstitions I always chew a piece of gum in the stand. I have been told by a lot of people that deer will smell the gum and leave, but I have had them right under the stand and never wind me because of the gum. Guest Xen
Re: Deer Hunting superstitions well, every time I go out, I take my gun and some ammo. call it superstition, but every time I've killed a deer, I had ammo and a gun. don't change what works, right? ok, so no, seriously, the only ritual my family ever had regarding hunting, was that you had to drink a shot glass full of the blood from the first deer or elk you kill. ever since I took mine, I've never been able to drink jaeger. must be the deer on the bottle I guess. buckee
Re: Deer Hunting superstitions Well, I know from experience that if I forget my hunting knife at home, I am almost certain to get a deer...LOL But if I intentionally leave it at home to improve my chances, it doesn't work.
