Guest Ritzer Posted August 15, 2005 Report Share Posted August 15, 2005 how does an adjustable objective work? i was thinking of a nikon monarch 3.3-10x44 that has the ao. if i dont ant to mess with it do i have to? i mean is there a setting i can leave it on for shooting a hundred yards or less? these are my shot ranges bout 150 yards or less and i dont want to get distracted adjusting the lens when im trying to shoot. so is there like a 0 spot that you sight in with an keep it on all the time? [/ QUOTE ] It allows the shooter to use higher magnification at closer or longer distances accurately. When used properly, it will remove paralax which is a killer of long range accuracy. [/ QUOTE ] Sure, you can do that. I typically set me AO scopes to the terrain I am hunting. If I am hunting in the woods where shots will be closer, I set the AO to focus the image about 75 yards. This works well from 10 yards to 100 yards. If I am hunting a field or meadow, I set it about 200 yards. I can go up or down from there.
