DSGB Posted August 25, 2005 Report Share Posted August 25, 2005 I've been hesitant to post about this for fear of the lashing I will receive from JB and maybe a few others. The time draws near and I can't keep the RT family in the dark any longer. I bet those of you that know JB can already guess what I'm going to say. Yep, I'm getting married. I have been with this girl for almost seven years (since my senior year in high school), so we're basically married anyway. We already have a four-year-old daughter together, something I do not regret in the least bit. What I do regret is putting it off for so long. We couldn't decide if we wanted to have a big wedding, a small one, or to just go to the justice of the peace. That and the cost of getting married were the biggest factors. Nothing in my life is going to change except marriage taxes and a piece of paper, and the fact that we have proclaimed our love for each other before God. She is a very good woman, maybe immature at times, but what woman isn't. She likes to go fishing with me (won't bait her own hooks, though) and has even been on a few afternoon hunts. She doesn't like getting up before the sun. She likes watching baseball and probably likes college football more than I do. The date is set for September 3, which will mark seven years since the day we commited to each other. It is the first day of dove season in Georgia, but I'll be back from the honeymoon in time for the bow opener. We will have the bachelor's party on Thursady next week. Gonna play 18 holes at Callaway Gardens Mountain View course, then in the evening head up to Atlanta to watch the Braves play the 'Nats and hit the town after the game. LOL! Hey congrats! She sounds like a keeper! My wife and I lived together for seven years as well before we got married. My mother was not very happy about it! But I needed to make sure we were going to make a life of it! If you two can live together in that amount of time it pretty well seems like you have your relationship worked out very well! Get crackin! I am in the same boat. Jenn and I had been together for 4 years, living together for two. We just had to finish school and get some jobs before we could afford a wedding.
