User's Daily Journal--Start yours today!

Its that time of year again! Just about everyone is out in the woods: cutting shooting lanes, hanging stands, checking game cameras, or just driving the roads spotting.

Why not share your experiences with other forum members by starting a UDJ? .

Just go to the UDJ forum and post!

With the Deer Contest coming up soon, it can get a little crowded in there, but UDJ's make posting your hunts in your teams thread easier. Once you post your hunt in your own UDJ thread, just copy the URL that you see while reading your UDJ and paste it in your team's Deer Contest thread.

To get an idea of what a UDJ is, visit the forum and read some of the members who keep UDJ's year around. While some may start new threads for 2005, a little searching will bring back up their 2004, 2003, etc. hunting seasons.

So go give Chrud's, YB15's, Huntinsonovagun's, Billygoat's, and the rest a read over and see what ya think. If you do, it may just spark a little fire under your creative mind and you'll start one.

Thanks, Kevin.

Re: User\'s Daily Journal--Start yours today!

I have a Journal I typically write in, after all of my outings, but after watching everyone last year, I decided, it might be easier to keep the journal online and print the entries to a book!

It's a great time reading what everyone is up to, and seeing what they put into their hunts!

Thanks for the FYI Kevin!

I had a journal but then came 10,000 hunting teams into that room so I figured I wouldn't bother again....JB

Sure wish you'd change your mind, J.B.

Your hunts always seem to be exciting...grin.gifgrin.gif

As for the hunting teams, the UDJ forum is the only logical place for them without making a new room. I realize it does deter some posters from keeping a UDJ, but it shouldn't. Just try to post daily or at least weekly and the worst you'll have to do is search on the second page for it. One idea we might undertake this year, is not to sticky the team posts. That way, teams that don't post regularly will be moved below active UDJ's.

See what I'm talking about??? In a UDJ post, you could have went into more detail about messing your drawers after hearing it...grin.gif

Speaking of that, I might have to ressurect the "Idiot's Journal" from the dustrack...grin.gif

Re: User\'s Daily Journal--Start yours today!

I used to enjoy writing and reading the user journals. However since the joining of it and the contest threads I find the room tooo cluttered. Having to wade through it all is somewhat of a pain. frown.gif I have said this from the very beginning that this room and the Tips and Tactics should be seperate rooms all to themselves.

Someone suggested that we'd be able to get tips through the regular roms. There is a whole lot lost in the clutter and sometimes meaningless chatter in those rooms as well.

I agree--that's why i quit my journal also. It used to be one of my favorite rooms to post and visit but once we started using that room for the team talk I lost interest.

Would be nice to have a different room for that.
