Squirrelhunter91 Posted August 31, 2005 Report Share Posted August 31, 2005 Alrighty then, after finding a few pieces of equipment that people were throwing out and fixed them up and whalaa! We were ready to work on our foodplots. We ended up grabbing a ridealong mower and a hand tiller. The mower needed to be fixed and it was and the tiller is fine. It just needed some Sta-Bil in the engine. Well after one afternoon and one morning of working on the area which is about a quarter acre, we finally got er dun. We planted a 10 lb bag of MossyOak Biologic clover, brassicas and wheat & oats. We used 150 pounds of Lime and 100 pounds of 12-12-12 fertilizer. It all worked like a charm. First we cut the original foodplot we had planted. As we were tearing up the ground we were tilling up turnips that we planted a few months ago that were ready to burst at the first frost... We threw them back in and planted them again. Here are some pics of the plot. Notice the hunting shed in the pic... This is a view from under one of our treestands, also overlooking this foodplot... It then rained the next to days on and off with sun inbetween on the plots after we planted. We also found deer tracks all inside the plot. This could be good.
