Guest Xen Posted September 6, 2005 Report Share Posted September 6, 2005 i purchased a browning citori when i turned 16. i use to be very heavy into skeet shooting, was jr. champ in my state for 3 years in a row, was a zone 7 all-star, even got invited to the jr. olympic try-outs (where i didn't do very well ) but anyway, i put a lot of rounds through it... i averaged 1,000 rounds per month for 4 years in a row, shooting 12, 20, 28 and .410 through it. well, it wore out the locking block stopped keeping the gun closed when i shoot 12 gauge. anyway, i sent it off to briley to have it fixed, they do great work and i'm having them fix the blocks and lengthen it up a bit - can't wait to get it back, it's been a great gun Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When they get around the 50K mark the owner should have it looked over by a good shotgun gunsmith, not the guy in the back of the neighborhood gunshop. Guest Xen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Share Posted September 13, 2005 Re: browning citori well, next week i should have my baby back actually, my dad called an old friend of his back there when i mentioned that i'd sent it back, i'm kind of hesitant to see the gun now... all i wanted done was the locking block fixed and a spacer put in to the recoil pad, but after my dad gets done "taking care of it" for my birthday, it might look brand new again most people would say that is a good thing, but i dunno, having worn the blueing off in places from actual usage was kind of cool Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My trap gun is a Rem 3200 Competition grade that has blueing worn in places that were just from shooting trap. It just seems like its supposed to be there. Guest Xen Posted September 15, 2005 Report Share Posted September 15, 2005 Re: browning citori well, got a bit of a review... the locking block was $200, the stock work, for some reason, was $150 - all i asked for was a spacer, I think my dad's "friend" sold him a whole new recoil pad, they also re-worked the mechanical triggers and charged $100 for that. if it wasn't for the fact that I had a tube set in the gun, i'd have just bought a new one. I think the total is gonna be around $550 when you add in the shipping to and from. I pray that they didn't re-finish it too, cause at that point, it would have been better off to get a new citori and pay $100 to have the tubes fit to the barrels... i'd be very upset if i was paying for this, but since i'm not, i'll have to be very grateful and really focus on the fact that my dad means well **sigh** Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
