wtnhunt
Have a lot of trouble getting back to sleep when I wake up before I should. I wake up pretty early every morning and pretty frequently in the middle of the night, and have a lot of trouble getting back to sleep, usually just go on and get up around 4 or so. HarvDog
Re: Insomnia sufferers... I never have problems going to sleep, sleeping through the night, or going back to sleep if SOMEHOW I am awoken during the night. However, I sure am tired all the time...go figure. BuckNrut
Re: Insomnia sufferers... Consider trying a product called "MELETONIN". My personal trainer had me try it for the same symptoms you describe. Meletonin is an herbal supplement, normally produced by the body (production decreases with age) that helps your body "calm down" and prepare for sleep. It does not make you drowsy. After I started using this product I went from waking up 3 or 4 times a night to just one. Just do a google search if you want more information. dogdoc
Re: Insomnia sufferers... there are some great sleeping aids available by perscription--you should consider going to your family physician to talk to him/her about your sleeping problems. Lack of sleep can lead to some serious health problems--including severe depression. Sometimes just getting on the sleeping aids for a week or two will get your body back into it's normal sleeping rhythm. I have used Meletonin before with fairly good success---it would sure be worth a try. good luck todd
billygoat
Re: Insomnia sufferers... Beer! just one, will wind you down! If you don't like that, consider a sleep aid! Ambien (by prescription) or Benadryl, there are some other's. You might also consider a tea, called "sleepy time". My wife has also used the meletonin, and says it works well.... me, I just close my eyes!
AaronS
Re: Insomnia sufferers... I have used melatonin with good success, but had to stop. After reading the bottle I found that it contains high amounts of calcium.....not a good thing for those prone to kidney stones like me. When I absolutely need to sleep good one night, I'll take a Tylenol PM about 2 hours before crawling in bed.
horst
Re: Insomnia sufferers... Ive been that way for years. Our kids were born 4 years apart so just about the time you get one sleeping all night another one would come along.I wake up very easily and can never get back to sleep. My body just got used to it.I used to turn the TV back on, get on the internet, Ive even got up in the middle of the night and started doing work around the house I dont sleep more than 4 or 5 hours most nights ans less some nights. Now when I wake up I resist the urge to turn the tv on, sit at the computer, and force myself to just lay there.Sometimes I get back to sleep, sometimes I dont.
