buckee
Primal Dreams (Hunters DVD) My wife and I sat down and watched it this afternoon. Rhino was "right on" when he said this hunting video was unlike any other hunting video on the market. It's more like a hunter's documentary from the soul, the quality of which would be unmatched by the National Geographic Society. The natural visual footage shown in this awesome video, is just too much for words. For me (being an artist) it was like watching a moving masterpiece work of art. Like a living painting it was. Even my wife (who stays clear when I'm watching hunting videos) kept going "WOW"..."Awesome" Breathtaking crystal clear footage, some of which many folks have probably never seen. This is a video (DVD) you could give to a non-hunter, or anti-hunter, look him/her in the eye and honestly say "Watch this, and you will understand WHY I/we hunt". Thanks Gene and Barry Wensel, the Mitten brothers and thank you Rhino Check this link guys http://www.brothersofthebow.com/
huntinsonovagun
Re: Primal Dreams Sounds like something to look in to. If Barry and Gene have anything to do with it, I'm sure it's good. Where can we see???

Tominator
Re: Primal Dreams It is not your normal hunting video. Kind of a cross between Marty Stouffer and Bill Jordan. Not for everybody, but a refreshing change from the norm.
ruttinbuc
Re: Primal Dreams It is a refreshing change from the norm, Chris. A very high quality video with footage of big game from all of the places most of us dream about. I was truly impressed with the production and its concept. Some of the music (too much piano) was seemingly overdone, but overall it was OK. Barry Wensel's narration truly comes from the soul with prose that gives some answers to why we hunt while questioning some of the issues we hunters face today. He explores the myths of the hunter. and the truth about us being the keepers of wildlife. The film is dedicated to Bart Schleyer an avid archer and biologist who died while doing what he loved to do. There is much on his life and death on the internet. Doing a search came up with some very interesting reading written by him. The links are to articles on his recent death which is still a mystery. Bart Schleyer death Bart Schleyer mystery More on Bart and the mystery No, this is not for everyone, but watching it will give all hunters an understanding of their Primal Dreams. In all of the videos that I have ever watched, my signature phrase, "It is all about the Hunting," could never be more represented. Well worth the price as an addition to my collection! ruttinbuc
Re: Primal Dreams Not a problem Buckee! When the memoriam of him showed up at the end of the video I had to get more information on his life. I had heard of his death and his contribution to carnivore science, but did not realize the impact he had on that science and those who have known him personally. He lived the life I believe all of us would love to emulate. The facts of his life and who he was brought the video full circle indeed. I hope all get to see this video and get to truly understand it's message.
JimT
Re: Primal Dreams Dreaming Time From dusk until dawn, from sunrise to sunset, When pain and discomfort have long been forgotten Between times of shivering and those of sweat From energy to exhaustion After hunger but before fulfillment All thirsts are eventually quenched When frustration greets humility, Sadness gives way to exhilaration as challenges are overcome Through it all, the hunter carefully plans his chase With but a simply prayer, asking only for one fair chance All the rest is dreaming time. That sums it up huh..I may need to get his dvd...
