buckee
Re: Bears eyes and nose? [ QUOTE ] Not very good eyesight at all. [/ QUOTE ] But their nose and ears make up for it at close ranges.
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Bears eyes and nose? Old saying-----A deer HEARS the leaf fall in the woods, the eagle SEES the leaf fall, the bear SMELLS the leaf fall. They don't see that well but you still can't make any fast movements. superguide
Re: Bears eyes and nose? you'll have to ask the bear VT lol. I just think they don't see very well-if the wind is right and you aren't moving they'll come pretty close to check you out.
fisherguy
Re: Bears eyes and nose? I agree totally with what has been said...nose better than any animal out there, vision that sees little or no colour, not that good at distances, but can pick out movement fairly well. fisherguy
Re: Bears eyes and nose? one other thing to mention...a big bear may look ungainly but has the ability to move through the thickest of brush and trees quieter than you would think possible, and moove quite fast if it feels teh need. Keep your eyes open and movement to a minimum because you can easily be caugh off guard by a bear materializing in front of you.
