I called it in today, and they were pretty busy so I have to wait for my certificate for the details on this bird. This is the second banded dove I've shot. I shot my first back in September of '03. He bands in a little town by the name of Waldo, which is about 10 miles from where I shot both banded doves. I'll be interested to see where this one was banded, but I'm sure it will come back Waldo. In maryland they started a dove banding operation a couple years ago, my dad got one with a band the first year they had them. They do it to track the migration routes and stuff like that so its not a bad thing at all, in fact they need u to take the birds with bands so they can learn more about them, thats the whole point of banding.
