Gator
And boy are my arms tired from all that flying!! LOL!! Got in to Kenai at a 4pm local time yesterday, after leaving OK at 8am local. (There is a 3 hour difference). Darn near got my main job completed here last night, need some LOCTITE and will be completely done. YIPPPEEEEEE!!!! Hopefully I can get on a fishing trip, but have heard most are shut down for the winter, , but I will check around today. I didn't know Alaska had that much WATER, holy cow, there are laes and ponds all over, at least what I saw coming in. Met a guide on my flight yesterday, been out for the last month guiding for caribou, bear, moose, can't remeber what else. Said theer season is done now, guess cause of the cold. Did get the services name and number, hopefully I can get back up here in the summer and do some fishing. Guess tomorrow I will go out and do some sightseeing, may do a little today. Manager is out on a job, so I won't see him much at all today. I'll keep ya'll updated with what I see, and hopefully will have some good pics when I get home. Our pilot told us that there are 2.2 million freshwater lakes in Alaska. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!!!

Gator
Re: Made it to Alaska Nope, not cold at all. I arrived yesterday wearing jeans and a short sleeve shirt and was fine. Temps are in the 40-50's. Feels NICE!!! It was raining last night, and think it will today to. Went out this morning, had to run an errand, they have frakin CARIBOUv road signs like we have deer signs!! Hope I get to see some!

Gator
Re: Made it to Alaska Well, looks like fishing is out the window. Darn near every guide I have talked to is shut down for the winter. I did find 1 guide taking a trip tomorrow, cost was $181, and you can only keep 2 halibut. That's just a little more than I want to pay going as an individual, to only get 2 fish that will average 20-40lb range. Now if I was going in a group, or gonna catch some bigger fish, I'd be all over it!!
stevebeilgard
Re: Made it to Alaska have fun. sorry about your anniversary. forget about halibut, not much good after august. try seward for silver salmon. great fun on a fly rod. also bottom fishing there. or, try off of ninilchik, in the river. have fun.
