elkoholic
This past week my mom passed away and after the hurried flight arrangements, the car rental, the services and time spent with family, there is a time to reflect on the past. At 52 years of age, I am the "baby" of the family and my eldest brother has already passed on. I look back on my life and how quickly it passes, bringing with it the sorrows and joys of the journey that is so very short. My dad has been gone 29 years now and with mom's passing I have cause to give thanks for the time and life they gave to me and my siblings. Living a simple life, consisting of hard work, with little reward accept the knowledge that you are providing food and shelter, and most of all love for your family. My hunting heritage, my work ethic, my centered way of life, is derived from a family and lifestyle seldom seen today, and for this, I say thank you to mom and dad. Truly a time to reflect. archerjg
Re: a time to reflect My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your mom. My Grandfather passed away on Monday and I agree it truely makes you reflect on the time that you have and spent with them. Again sorry for your loss. beagleboy
Re: a time to reflect sorry to hear about your mom's passing. It's never an easy thing to deal with. The only thing you can truly hang on to is the memories of love and respect. Sorry for your loss.

Tominator
Re: a time to reflect Hmmmm, great thoughts Elk. I called my dad yesterday. I told him of a dream I had of him, and I told him of another dream I had of my mom, who passed on 19 years ago. He then told me of a dream he had of my brother who died in 2001. Strange. So many times I stand in my garden, leaning on a rake or sit in my treestand, thinking of the past--good times, bad times, new times to come. I always end with "thank you Lord."
