Okay, I posted the "14 deer under my stand last night" thread 2 nights ago and man have I got an update!!! I Know it sounds like braggin' and all and well........you're right!!!! J/K But listen to this. I have been out to the same buddies house 3 nights in a row and I thought that 14 deer walking under my stand was awesome. Well it still is but last night I saw no less than 4 bucks in the same field walk 16 yds away from my buddies stand at the other end of the fence row. Here's the kicker! Two of them were 140 class or better, one was a young 8 point and 1 was maybe a 110 class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so pumped right now I can't sleep or think about anything else. How do I calm down when or if the time comes to harvest one of those Monsters of the Midwest? I have tried everything from praying to closing my eyes for a bit to going through the steps of how to shoot my bow. Nothing has worked so far and I want to finally cash in on the hard work of 9 yrs. I have killed a few does and such but no wall hangers and I have had opportunities. Any help is welcomed.

The best advise I ever got was a friend of mine told me you got to get mad at them. That was a long time ago. Worked for me too. Basically when the moment of truth presents itself I sort of just put a face on, trick myself into getting an angry feeling, and then just concentrate on the spot I want to hit. I don't look at anything else and when I come to full draw I say in my mind "follow through" over and over again. Works for me. Of course there have been a few times when I had a look on my face and almost lost it. Like when I killed the big one last year. No matter what, there are times when all of us loose it and get a little rubber legged too. It's great!
