carbonhunter
On long lines at polling places....who does is favor. I know that here in ohio they are seeing record numbers of people voting, I was at the polls at 6am because i have to work at 7am....i was still a half an hour late. The little clips ive seen on the news it has showed several voters who said "i waited for three hours but hey i'll do anything for change" i figure this is just the media being media, but I also dont see record numbers of people showing up to vote for the norm. slugshooter
Re: whats your opinion I heard someone on the news say that the record number of voters was a good sign for Kerry. Long line where I voted, and there's only 3000 registered voters for my precinct.
ParrotHead
Re: whats your opinion It took me 2 hours this morning. Lets put it into perspective a little. Record number of voters, but still only half of the country votes. What would happen if indeed everyone voted that could vote? The election system couldn't take it. oldksnarc
Re: whats your opinion 7:31 PM CST. Bush has 102 vs Kerry's 77 electoral votes. Still early but Bush is pulling states he wasn't expected to. Go W.
markyj987
Re: whats your opinion Wisconsin usually turns out a good percentage compared to national average. This year, they're predicting 70-75%...so we'll see how it goes. My sister tried to vote 3 times and finally was able to...lines were REALLY REALLY long for her... I got there a half hour before polls opened and got in and out right away.

[/ QUOTE ] Everytime the reports come on they say it is playing out exactly like they predicted, there is virtually no change since 2000, the real race is between 5 states it seems anyway, PA,OH,FL,MI,WI. HuntingInMaine
Re: whats your opinion I live in a small town, so I didn't have to wait in line to vote. But watching the news this morning they are showing people who have waited in line for about 10 hours. I heard that this was good news for the democrats because republicans vote more consistantly than other parties do. I guess that doesn't mean much because Bush is ahead in votes now.... wtnhunt
Re: whats your opinion Well Aaron I am going to answer this even though you do not care about my opinion. Have heard some stories this morning of some places in Ohio staying open until about 3:45 this morning. Guess that said if you feel it is your civic duty to vote as you should and you are determined enough to wait in line it does not really matter if you are a democrat or a republican, you had an opportuntity to cast your vote. To answer your question, I really dont think a specific party gains any favor in voting by long lines.
