Swamphunter
I need some help with my hunting sight set-up. I can hold a decent group (smaller than a tennis ball) at 20-25 yards, but its not like it used to be. My aluminum arrows used to blow nocks off and crease each other down the length of the shaft 10 years agao. (before family responsibilities shortened my shooting time). My bow is tuned very well, so its not the that. Its just my peep sight hole seems to big, or something. I can't really center the front pin as tightly as I would like. What are you using for peep sights?? What can I do to tighten my groups up again?? Thanks
Tony
Re: Sight help... i use a Super Peep , its made by Specialty Archery and is really for target shooters.. it has multiple screw in sizes i can put in . for indoor target and 3D i shoot a 3/32 peep. but for hunting i take it out and just use the housing. i have to because if i have to make a shot at low light i need the bigger peep to let more light in to see the pins.. im betting your just not comfortable with your peep size and are fighting it . just allow your eye to naturally center the peep and make your shots.. you could try a smaller peep , but if its to small you wont get the amount of light in at low light if you have to make a shot then.. just relax , allow your eye to center the pin hold dead on and make your shot.. tennis ball size groups are still pretty darn good at 20 and 25 yards..
