Guest tarbaby Posted October 2, 2005 Report Share Posted October 2, 2005 Well my opening weekend i guess will have to wait a week this year. I was pumped because we are on fall break and have tomorrow off so i thought i was going to go hunting the whole time. Boy was i wrong. I ordered a trophy taker rest for my bow monday off ebay and paid extra for 2-3 day shippin. (i was havin trouble with my quiktune) well to make a long story short..... it still isnt here Too add to that... last night a few counties around here including mine got 8-10" of rain in just a few hours overnight.... Well im on the volunteer fire dept. and we got called out to a car that was swept off the highway and the driver (a 55 yr. old lady) was hangin on to corn stalks in the middle of a flooded field. After gettin to her about 1 1/2 hours later we finally got her to safety. But the whole area was blocked in due to the water and we had to get a helicopter to get her to the hospital. Just kinda had to vent a little and get it out. Kind of a scary situation for awhile. Just when I thought Texas was gonna get some Fall weather the hot stuff shows back up. Needless to say, the 90 degree plus weather made conditions pretty tuff. However, I was fortunate enough to be in the woods on opening weekend and for that I am thankful . Hope we get some cool weather soon.
