Shaun_300
Re: 7600 I don't own one, but a lot of my uncles and cousins have them! They all like them, and I've shot them too, personally I think they are awesome guns!
Washi
Re: 7600 I inherited one from my grandpa and my dad and brother each have one. They are great guns. When I get some money I'm thinking about picking up another and maybe even a few to give to the young ones in the family.
AJ
Re: 7600 Never played with a 7600, I have an original 760 from the early 1950s. They are good guns.

HuntingInMaine
Re: 7600 I have one....I just had a youth stock put on it so it fits me better and was out shooting it Saturday. I really love it and even after sitting in a closet for many years, it was right on with the first shot....I'm in the process of having the scope taken off and peep sights put on....the scope is a little too close to my face with the shorter stock on it..... WABS
Re: 7600 I was trying to pick up a 7600 but the guy wanted a little too much for it, so I ended up buying a 742 instead. Always have liked the pump though.
Washi
Re: 7600 Technically all the ones in my family are 760's but I don't think there is much difference. The one my brother hunts with is from the 50's I believe.

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe the ones I have shot are an exception but they didn't seem to kick much but then again I'm used to 12 gauge slugs.
AJ
Re: 7600 [ QUOTE ] Maybe the ones I have shot are an exception but they didn't seem to kick much... [/ QUOTE ] You are correct. They do not kick any more than any other 30-06 of the same weight. They are similar weight to the bolt guns. I have shot 4 different ones and never noticed any more or less recoil than other guns. In fact, I was 12 years old when I bought my first gun (rem 760 Carbine in 30-06) from my uncle.
VermontHunter
Re: 7600 LOL.... Nope you guys are right... the 7600 in .30-.06 like mine doesn't kick any harder than any other in this caliber..... But take in account I am tall and thin bodied..... and unfortunately lately when checking my sighting,, the weather has been unusually warm.. and without the extra padding of a heavy jacket, this particular model carbine loves to kick straight back with little muzzel lift...OUCH is all I can say...... All in All this little rifle is very reliable and accurate... I enjoy hunting with it alot...... and you never feel the recoil after bringing down a nice deer with it... iron buck
Re: 7600 I think that some that feel it kicks harder than a normal 06 of the same weight feel that way due to the hard plastic butt plate. No soft cushy recoil pad LOL
