dodge4x4
I was at one of my horse show's the other day. And this one guy is sittin on his horse, and just slips off the side, lands on his ankle wrong, and his bone shoots out his leg and is sticking out about 3 inches. Now, for a broken ankle, instead of just throwin him in the truck and driving him to the hospital, they call an ambulance. 45 minutes later, an ambulance pulls in from a town 30 miles away, and 55 mins later an ambulance pulls in from the town 5 miles away. Now what is that, 600, 700 dollars an ambulance? Then, after that about an hour later, a lady is riding around the arean, falls off her horse, lands on the ground, the horse goes down, lands half on top of her, rolls completely on top of her so he's on his back with hiws legs stickin straight up and ALL his weight is on her, and then rolls off. He was laying in the arena for aobur 30 minutes before they took her just outside of the gate and laid her down. They never did call an ambulance but she was hurt pretty bad. She walked away, but was leaning on people all the while. Just send a prayer for these people. Man, its not even rodeo, just shows, and we got people gettin hurt this bad. It's crazy. lol. LifeNRA
Re: Sunday\'s Injuries When I was running with the local ambulance here. All the horse shows had ambulances on standby at the show! We were given a donation by the show for being there! Not sure how much it was. But anybody that got hurt (and there was too!) was taken to the hospital right away if they wanted too! I would think the person responsible for conducting the show should have somebody there just incase! That way something like this wont happen again! JMO! browning_gold_12
Re: Sunday\'s Injuries first off, i hope evryone recovers well from their injuries. i used to have horses too, something is always getting busted up. do not take this the wrong way please, i am only relating personal experience, not being judgemental or anything like that, i promise. after getting out of the horse business, i started racing motocross. almost all horse shows and MX races in our area are on sunday. after tearing up all kinds of stuff, and being banged up right and left, my old man told me, if you had been in church where you were supposed to be, you wouldnt have gotten hurt! well, suffice it to say, i quit racing on sundays!! Turkeygirl
Re: Sunday\'s Injuries Wow, that almost sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Whoever is running the horse show doesn't seem too concerned about the entrants...just the money! I hope both are ok.

dodge4x4
Re: Sunday\'s Injuries Yea, and the other shows we do always have one. But at this place, they just don't. They have never had them there. Granted, the lady that had the horse fall on her didn't need it after all, but the guy with the ankle, I mean, seriously, you got a broken ankle. Pick him up, put him in the truck, and take him to the hospital. lol.
