bghunter777
I have used the stuff now for 1 week and have been in more deer than ever before Tuesday morning I had probably 7-8 deer come in from directly down wind and I could see the deer testing the air as if to say we smell something but never got alarmed and continued rite under me. that is just 1 encounter I have had several like this I have had deer all around me for hours at a time the same morning I had 12 deer in all directions and they would look at me because of where the stand is located I can only get it 12 feet up but man is it in a good location then get a little nervous but settle rite back down at only 10 yards. I have to attribute this to the amount of deer made them feel safe and at only 10 yards they could not smell anything and I was motionless. On a side note and kind of funny but this is a test anybody can do in the past when I have had to pass gas I always or quite often smell it shortly after and think this can not be good for hunting whether it spooks deer or not I do not know. but since having the scent Lok suit I honeslty can not smell my own gas at all. I know that is kind of funny but it is relevent lol
rossman
Re: Scent Lok I really think it works What else are you doing since wearing the scent lok? Have you started being more scent concsience also? I mean, like showering in scent free soap, scent free deorderant, washing your clothes in scent free detergent and spraying scent eliminator on your boots and clothes. If your started doing all of these things when you started wearing scent lok, I would believe it is more the scent elimintaion process than the scent blok clothing. I read an article written by some scientists, who tested the scent lok clothing. They also scientifically based reason why it does not work. For example, to reactivate the carbon, you would need a dryer that coyuld reach 2000 degrees ferengheit. It would also have to be an oxygen free encloser, so the dryer would not combust into flames due to the extreme heat. Carbon can not be reactivated in a hous hold dryer or even an industrial dryer. Also they said, the carbon gets "saturated" so fast that by the time you get to the woods it would be saturated already. This is just what I read. I believe that if you wash all of your clothes in scent free detergent, even your underwear and back pack. And use scent free bags to transport your clothes to your hunting area. pray down before you get to the woods. And most importantly, set up your stands so the wind is in your favor. It is very effective and there is no need to spend the hundreds of dollars on this overpriced scent lok clothing. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. It is just my opinion. Good luck--Rossman
AaronS
Re: Scent Lok I really think it works I read that same article....it was linked to in an old post here....and it was not done by a scientist but by an average Joe. Whether the stuff works or not I don't know...I don't own any. If this member feels that it works for him, more power to him.
Tominator
Re: Scent Lok I really think it works Yeah, I've had a few encounters where I think it makes a difference. Last year I remember being on the ground, straight upwind of a doe that walked right past me, and she never gave me an indication that she knew I was there until I lowered my bow, passing on the shot. rossman
Re: Scent Lok I really think it works [ QUOTE ] If this member feels that it works for him, more power to him. [/ QUOTE ] yeah, I was not putting him down. My point was, maybe it wasn't the scent lok but all else that goes with it. When I bought my scent lok 7 years ago, I started being really scent conscience. Showering scent free, washing my gear and all else that goes with it. When a hunter buys a scent free garmet, he thinks of being scent free and will go the extra mile. I am happy for him, that he is happy with his purchase. By no means, was I putting him down in any way. So more power to you!!!
