VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread WOW.. Johnson for team USA elbowed somebody, and got a 5 min major... I wounder if he gets thrown out of the turnament, for that bone-headed move... Frustration or not, that totally uncalled for.... CONGRATS TO TEAM CANADA FOR GOING 4-0.... Hey Muff your goalie got player of the game...
superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread Well I'm sure Downey was chirping a bit going up ice-in the WHL Johnson would have to answer to Chipchura or comeau for that little move. Kessel is slick but US college hockey isn't quite like major junior on Canada-if the meet again the medal round will be quite a game. VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Chirping Downey was,, they both were hacking at each other pretty good with the sticks, Johnson figured he had enough and just elbowed Downey to the ice.... I agree superguide the medal round should prove to be a great game if they meet... Hope everyone had a great New Year last night,,

superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread Lord help us if a Canadian would of done that to a Swede-don't worry Mr. Johnson will run into some of those players down the road '3' is an easy number to remember. It just tics me off-I watched the Mac Midget final today. A Swede speared Kyle Ireland right in the throat (5 min ma jor) right in front of the refs no call at all. I was lucky enough to evaluate Kyle at a camp this spring and he sure isn't a diver. No call at all-Brady Whacker makes a great bodycheck and off to the box-Our little province did pretty darn good silver and bronze at the most prestigious Midget tourney going. VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread DANG !! Bruins lost to the Flyers 1-0 this afternoon.... Stick a fork in them,, unless they go on some type of meraculous winning streak they aren't making the playoffs this season...
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Yeah I am home now and watched the game. The Bruins played well and I thought Tovien played well too. They will never make the playoffs man...not this year

TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread [ QUOTE ] Guess that trade really working out for them lol. [/ QUOTE ] You laugh but they have won more games and have played better as a team since he left They already dug too deep a hole for this year. I think if it was the off season when they had more time to work up some chemistry with their new lines and they get a better coach, keeping the same team members that they have now(well, minus a couple) , I really think they would do rather well. Somebody smarter than you and I decided that it would be better off with him somewhere else. Somebody who makes more money than we do...at least me anyway I really think Raycroft is a bad choice for the rest of the season. I think Zahmnov(sp) is a joke, Hal Gill for how big he is, is a wimp and could do more as a "D". Murray needs to step up and get over the loss of his sidekick Thorton. The GM AND coach need fired. I think after that, they would be pretty good
VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Well atleast my second choice in the east has stepped it up,,, and I'll have someone to route for in the east come playoff time.... Flyers of course...
superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread Darn rights I'm laughing lol-oops I did it again I just wish they'd of gave the Oilers a present like they did San Jose. Maybe they should of shopped Thornton for lets say a goalie instead of some third line pluggers the league is full of those. How could Zhamnov be a joke isn't he a 'European' every teams savior lol. VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread A goalie we could have definately used... but I think the Bruins picked up some decent players in the Thorton trade...I had my reservations when the trade first took place, the 3 they did get have performed well IMO. As for Zahmnov, Murray and Samsonov,, they need to start stepping up to the plate, and start doing what they get paid the big bucks for... It's too bad the best player on the team is a rookie goaltender,,, and Im NOT talking about Raycroft either.... Hannu has stood on his head to try and keep the Bruins in games.... I agree with Mike, it's time to start smacking around some coaches and management,,, nad I'd start at the top with Synden...
drkillemquick
Re: Official Hockey thread How about those leafs!!!! 6 straight, We haven't put this many w's together since the early 90's!!! Wow what happened to the Sens yesterday!!!
Muff
Re: Official Hockey thread The Sens got their BUTTS KICKED...thats what happend....the coach even benched his top line because they were playing so bad.....oh well I guess everyone has those kind of games every once in awhile.
SaskMan
Re: Official Hockey thread The Sens got absolutely thumped by a far hotter team than they are right now. It's just one game but Atlanta was definately the winner in that trade yesterday. Atlanta has won 10 of 11 or something so no surprise to see them beat the Senators. Here's my world junior take. Finland was horrible yesterday, they did not desrve to win and if they play like that tonight they'll either get pummeled or win b/c they put Canada to sleep. The U.S was lucky to get by the Czech's, I doun't think they'll get by Russia but who knows Finland won their game. Should be a good final, unless Finland gets lucky. Superguide, you make fun of the bruins getting third line pluggers for Thornton, isn't that the type guys you'd rather see in the league than Jagr, Kovalchuk, Alfredsson and so on??? Did I mention they are the league's top 3 scorers. lol
drkillemquick
Re: Official Hockey thread What's the story is Hasek REALLY hurt or what, or is he just pretending he's in Buffalo again and decided he wanted a game off????
superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread Give it a rest Gunner or move to Europe you never trade down in a trade-how about Spezza,Staal,Iginla if you want to talk skill game in game out-if you like moody inderachievers who [play only when they want put Jagr on your screen saver-A FEW Europeans might be equal talent wise but when the crunch comes we all know who steps up to the plate. You'd think a dangler like yourself would appreciate some corner men lol. TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Sounds like someone doesn't like the Eurpoean Players. How do you think we feel with all the Canadians playing in the NHL I wonder why Canada doesn't have a league like we do I thought that's the Canadian way
