VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread I have to agree Mike the shootout shoots for the Bruins were real weak.... But over-all I thought the game was hard played.. Now the officiating on the other hand, I thought was real one-sided, benifiting the Dallas Stars... There should be a fine system put in place by the league for some of these real questionable calls and non-calls....
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Rumor has it that there is a big sweep about to happen in bean town. Bourqe is wanted to take over GM and someone else to step in as coach. Although this year is over for the B's pretty much, at least it will give the new Mgmt a little extra time to make changed in time for next year. VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Something needs to change that's for sure Mike... I have to be about one of the biggest Bourque fans out there,,, do you really think Ray would be the best choice for GM ?? My opinion is he definately couldn't screw things up any worse than they are now that's for sure...
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Well I think Bourqe didn't want the job earlier on because then it would be a lot of pressure for him to turn the team around in time for the playoffs. Then if he didn't, it would give him a bad name. Now though, it's pretty much too late in the game. So therefore, now, he would have some extra time to get the team back on track in time for next year and the team couldn't do any worse, only better for the rest of the season therefore boosting his name once again. I don't think he would take the coach's position, only the GM's IMO. His name is too big for him to take a chance on coaching. We will see though, who knows. I would love to see him take coaching and Neeley take GM
superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread I just got home from coaching-talking trash at the faceoff is just bush-like I said any hockey player knows if you want to go there are alot of ways to get it done. Just saw my Bantams play a heck of a game-we ended up against a 35-0 team in the 'A' final of a tournament-we took them to overtime-I only had 8 forwards and 4 D on my bench-they got the winner in OT but ran over our goalie to do it. It was a great game big hits and steady end to end.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Fantastic job by the Bruins in OT today against the Mighty Ducks. You got to hand it to Tim Thomas. I wonder how Raycroft feels. Maybe they oughta send him to the AHL and keep Thomas and Tovien in the net. I betcha they would win more games but then again, probably due to salary, they wouldn't anyway

superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread TreeStand you just missed a perfect example of what happens when you really want to fight in the Oilers/Sabres game-McKee stuck a kneee out on Hemsky and Jason Smith was on him before you could blink-sounds like Lacouture is a chirper. TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread He wasn't a chirper tonight. He had a pretty good bout today. I see connoly or whatever his name is from Buffalo just deaked(sp) a solo on about 3 Oilers and scored

superguide
Re: Official Hockey thread Even Smith has a soft spot in his heart lol. I'll be impressed when Hemsky drops them to defend Smith lol. The Penguins could maybe learn a bit from it lol. If they were smart they trade Malkin for a couple stud 'D' men and some draft picks-their defence sucks big time-if they can get a cracked water bottle for Gonchar they should jump at that deal too. The western division playoffs are going to be better than the Cup finals that's my fearless prediction.
drkillemquick
Re: Official Hockey thread I couldn't agree with you more superquide! The Western Conference is intense. I am a leaf fan through and through however I find myself really enjoying watching the three canadian western teams play!!! It is so much faster than the eastern game. SaskMan
Re: Official Hockey thread Ovechkin has impressed me this year, I don't care what he did as a kid before this yr, he's been unreal, leading rookies in goals, points and get this...HITS. He's the real deal, I don't care where he's from. Pittsburg is absolutely BRUTAL!!! They need more than a couple good dmen right now, they also need a goalie, I don't think Fleury will ever be what they hoped he would. And for what it is worth...I agree that the western conference is far better this year, though Ottowa and Buffalo can do some dangling. Good times....free NHL package on bellexpressvu this week. lol
VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread OK Mike it's on to Philly, were the big boys like to fight.... This could be a good one.... even tho the Flyers are on top, maybe we can catch them off guard and pull 2 points out of Philly...
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread I think Thomas will get the start again most likely but the "D" need to help out as well. What are we now, 0-3 against the Flyers ...IN PHILLY Hopefully Luke, hopefully
VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread Actually Mike this may suprise you... Here's the states before the lockout season.... Boston 2-1-1 (1-0-1 at Bos; 1-1 at Phi) Boston has the edge slightly in that department... But we both know this is whole new season... VermontHunter
Re: Official Hockey thread There we go Mike,,, that's the way they need to be playing.... They can be a little better in the defensive zone,, but overall they played like they have a heart... Thomas has been outstanding in net,,, Yep I agree they need to dump Raycroft, and stick with Thomas and Hannu... 2 very important points Mike,, 8 more and we are back in the playof picture...
