sasksheds Posted November 4, 2004 Report Share Posted November 4, 2004 Well last night I was out in one of my honey holes.I sat all evening until about 10 min before legal time.I had a muley buck come & bed down in front of me about 80yds but thats it.So I decided to take a quick walk around to the other side of the property.Not paying attention when I walked over a rise,a "huge" whitetail buck nailed me & bounded into the bush.I almost cried.A chance of a life time gone.I walked around the bluff & saw him standing in the open field on property that I dont have permission for & it was already past legal shooting time.Nobody has ever been harder on me than myself.I tell you I didn't feel very good about myself & my so called hunting skills.I beat myself up emotionaly pretty bad.I let myself slip for a minute & thats all it took. So I get home & still feeling sorry for myself & the phone rings.It was a buddy of mine telling me to phone one of my best friends because his mother & stepbrother were killed in a car accident. Ya I quit feeling sorry for myself real quick.I guess there's more important things out there.I called him & he is doing as good as can be expected.His dad lets me hunt & look for sheds on his land every year & is the kind fellow that pulled me out of his field when I got stuck this spring.With nothing but a chuckle & a grin.They didn't deserve this. Prayers and condolences for their family. I know I'm one who has alot less reason to gripe about anything now because of what you have shared.
