I think it looks a lot bigger in the first pic because he is holding it out towards the camera, fully extending his arm. It exaggerates the size and kinda throws it off a bit. Here is another example of how deer tend to get a lot bigger if they are held straight out towards the camera.....this is a 142" 8 pointer. Face blocked to protect the innocent. As for the tail sticking up, I would bet that this deer had been hanging from it's antlers for a while before being taken down for pics. With this weather I would have had to skin and butcher that deer the day I harvested him.I'm now a believer that the deer is real, but you have to admit, he seems a little over dressed for our weather. I may be the way they are set up but the guys face looks wierd too. It looks like it was photo shopped in. I'm not doubting the deer itself. But I think it was photoshopped to look bigger.
