hutchies Posted October 18, 2005 Report Share Posted October 18, 2005 My wife that is. This new job she is at is absolutely rediculous. She goes in at 11am Monday Wednesday, Friday. Tuesday and Thurdsay she goes in at 8am and Saturdays she has to work 8 am til 1:30, Monday thru Friday she has to stay til 5:30 everyday cause this lady always has an excuse to the owner so she can go home. The lady she works for is really trying to push every button she can. The longest previous employee in the finance department under this lady only lasted 61 days and this has been going on for years now. The salesmen take bets on how long the newbie will last working for her. Anyway at least 2 of those day a week that she does not have to come in til 11 this lady will call and tell her she needs to come in early or tell her to pick her up cigs, food, whatever the case might be. This lady runs the finance department and works less than 20 hours a week while my wife is there 40+. I run a trucking company within walking distance from my house but they are fixing to move it 10 miles away. Heres the problem, My 8 year old gets off the bus at 3:30. I don't get off work til 5pm and the wife at 5:30. There is no way this kid is staying at home by herself for 2 1/2 hours so she asked the lady if she could start going home at 4pm on Tues and Thurs and I would come home early Mon, Wed, Fri. The lady looked at her and told her she better find a new job cause that is the reason she got hired. Originally she was told they would rotate out. Same with Saturdays. Well come to find out the only way she gets off is if this lady approves it. So guys I hope the Lord has another plan. Melissa asked when she would start making comission cause it was supposed to be at 60 days. Get close to 60 now its well maybe at 90 days. Now I know why she only works 15-20 hours a week cause she is not having to split commision with my wife so se is making a boatload. He knows my parents and has been a family friend all of my life. I seriously doubt he knows what is going on but the way he looks at it is that it is her department and she has to take care of the problems in it. So if the wife quits she has to work M-S 8-5:30 When she got hired she did not even know where she was working til the first morning when she drove up to the address supplied. My wife went back to work part time to spend more time with my little girl. She is much happier with her decision. She gets $700 a month child support from her ex. She told my wife she is dating a lawyer. Come to find out her boyfriend gives her $700 a week so she does not have to spend so much time at work. He wants to rent a house in Maine for 3 months during the summer and told her to quit her job he would support her. She treats this guy like dirt and he pays her for it, what is wrong with him. He said "He needs a part time person or no one at all." Guys this is the motorcycle shop that I have bought every bike and quad I owned from and I am not very happy to be finding out that they are treating my wife like trash. She works there 6 days a week. No wonder the have went thru 6 people in her position in the last year. I will be taking my business somewhere else. I wish things were like they used to be when an employee needed some help with something they worked thru it and took care of their people. It seems like most jobs today don't care what your problems are they just care if you show up and put in a hard days work for barely enough to pay for gas and daycare. Thanks for putting up with me today guys. I just can't believe this is happening. We are only talking about a hour and a half 2 days a week.
