horst Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 Buried a friend of mine here two days ago, i posted about it last Friday.I just was thinking, everyones got friends like that, you were like brothers at one point in life and somehow drifted apart and lost touch with each other.Sometimes you get back together and remain friends later in life, sometimes you forget about em till you hear their gone.Then you wonder what happened in the years in between. Matt and I were like brothers once, but lost touch for a lotta years.We had a drunken fight one night and never got the chance to patch things up till a few years later but it was never quite the same.Things were said that shoulda been left alone. The last 4 years or so that changed, we became good friends again, he worked on my cars, i worked on his house or the shop.I was around when his kid was born, and there was a time when they life flighted his kid and I was there for that. Its the second friend ive had that died way to young, and unneccasarily.And both of them Id lost touch with for awhile and had just started getting to know again when they were taken. But this post isnt about me, or them,its just a friendly reminder.We take a lotta things and a lotta people for granted.Weve all got friends we would like to see again that weve lost touch with.Do it while you can, see what theyve been up to, or just stop and say hi.It might not be the same relationship it used to be but it can still be good.Maybe im still just a little shook up but these things all seem so obvious yet we hardly ever think about them Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've actually been sitting here thinking about a friend I grew up with, that I haven't heard from in a long, long time. I think I'm going to try and look him up. I ended up dating a girl, and this guy was also friends with her ex bf, and it caused pretty much the end of our friendship. There have been a few feeble attempts to patch things up over the last 15 years, but it never really worked. We pretty much exchange Christmas cards and thats about it.
