Another newbie question

I'll be taking my new gun out for the first time this weekend and I think I have a handle on everything but one. I have the loose triple seven and I'll be working on finding the right load for my gun. Once I get the right load, say it's 100 grains of measured powder, is that the same as two of the fifty grains of pellets? I know I can shoot three of them (150gr)but as far I can see it would be only around of 127 grains of loose? Is this right?

This may sound stupid but how much difference in performance would someone expect to see by shooting 150 gr. in 777 pellets over 100 gr. of pellets?

It depends on what bullet you are shooting. With pellets, the difference is about the same as with Pyrodex. Some bullets like Powerbelts do not care for the 150 gr loads. Some sabots like the 150 gr charges. It depends on the gun. A longer barrel will make more use of 150 gr loads also. You can have anywhere from 200-400 fps gain depending on your application.

Nothing is free and you do get increased recoil with the 150 gr loads. Unless you can take shots over 150-200 yards, I don't see a big benefit of the 150 gr loads.
