dodge4x4
Hey y'all. I know this is a pointless question, but I got to thinking bout it the other day talking to a guy who said he hunts his 8 acre farm, and he doesn't hunt on anyone elses land. I was wondering about how much you guys do hunt on that is yours or family, and how much you can hunt on with other peoples property. We have about 4000 acres that my family owns to hunt on, and then we've got about 2000-3000 more that we can hunt that is friends and other peoples. What about you guys? BuckNrut
Re: Acerage question? The places I have priveleges to hunt on range form 5 to 1000 acres. Oddly, the 5-acre place has been my most productive one the last 4 years.

Tominator
Re: Acerage question? Hmmm, I'd have to add it up. I live on a whopping 5.4 acres, of which about 3 acres is feral field, pine trees, food plots and vegetable garden. Believe it or not, for only being 3 acres, I take quite a bit of rabbit and pheasant off it. There's always deer back there, but as of yet, I haven't killed one back there yet. As far as access to land, I have permission for literally thousands of acres, but a lot of it is broken up into small woodlots the biggest being maybe 20 acres of creek bottom. I tag along with ohiobucks mostly on the weekends, and he is fortunate to have access to tons of woods in the area where he grew up.

Guest mnarcher
Re: Acerage question? I don't have any private so I guess I have thousands of federal and state land in Minnesota to hunt. I mainly hunt the same two areas and they are about 300 acres each but mostly grass and about 20 acres are woods on each.

Jeramie
Re: Acerage question? Roughly 1200 that is family and then I hunt some distant family (through my sisters inlaws) and that could add up to a thousand or so too. I actually only hunt about 50 of it. Guest TheNumber1Young1
Re: Acerage question? we used to have about 8000 acres, but over the past 8years, that has decreased considerably, we pretty much owned a lot of the land in our county, killed about 25-40 deer a day(Saturday, the day we run dogs) back then....Now we have close to 1100 acres.but dont kill near as many deer. We killed 6 last year and 2 of them were mine.but there should've been around 5 a day....The older guys in our club need to go to the shooting range.... wtnhunt
Re: Acerage question? My wife myself and my children will hunt our 60 acre farm. We have an adjoining 30 acre tract of woods that we have permission to hunt and we are going to be buying that land from that neighbor whenever he decides to let it go, that would put us at about 90 acres.
