hutchies
Alright guys I got a chance to shoot my Optima with the powerbelts and they shot awesome. I read Bluelk's ML chapters and read to sit down and clean the gun between every shot. My setup: CVA Optima 80 grains Pyrodex RS 295 grain Powerbelt Hollow Point This is a 2 inch circle. From Center to Center of hole is 3/4 inch. This was at 60 yards. [image][/image]
Gator
Re: Optima and Powerbelts!! have you ever retrieved a bullet? I am curious as to how well it mushroomed. I have shot powerbelts in the past, veryy little bullet disconfiguration, and I mean very little

browtine2
Re: Optima and Powerbelts!! Hey Gator, we've killed a lot of deer with powerbelts and they mushroom great, usually to about the size of a quarter, the exeption is the aerotips. Only shot one deer but it just punched a little hole through requiring a lengthy tracking job. I think the aerotips might work on heavier game but i don't like them for deer. I'll stick to the hollow points they're great.

Wasn't there some talk here last fall about some people having problems with the 295 gr. PB's Shoot the 348's!!!!!!! I have been using them for 3 years now and they are great!! stick
Re: Optima and Powerbelts!! Hi! I have never posted before, but I have been visiting this site for about a year now. I have an optima pro and I tried every single powerbelt and different powders and could not get consistant groups. I changed to the 250 gr. shockwaves with three 777 pellets and shot one inch groups at 100yds , and this last weekend shot a nice 11pt. I have six friends that shoot the optima pro and the guns just love the shockwaves.
AJ
Re: Optima and Powerbelts!! Hey Stick, Welcome to the group. Do you have any pics to go with your initial post? I have the same feelings about PB bullets.
