dodge4x4 Posted October 29, 2005 Report Share Posted October 29, 2005 One of my friends had been out working one of their fields on his tractor, and was heading back through town to get to the other side. (He is 15.) He got to the railroad tracks which is right by the gas station, and decided he was gonna have fun and try and beat the train on a John Deere. The fun part went out the door very quickly. The train hit him, throwing them both into the gas station, and the tractor is completely totaled and it broke a 3 inch solid steel door on the gas station. The ambulance was called, and they came. Justin (the kid) had a lot of gashes all over his body, was unconscious, and was bleeding very severely. They took him to the local hospital, and then he had to be air lifted to a bigger hospital because they found he had internal bleeding inside his skull and brain. Once he arrived at the other hospital, they found that a vein in his head was bleeding severly, and a minute later, his skully COMPLETELY collapsed on the top and sides and they had to remove some of it to get it back up however they did it. Then he had to have surgery to rwemove the cut vein (don't know why the didn't just fix it) but they had to operate on it, and also on his skull. He is now going to have to undergo some major reconstruction surgery on his skull. I am on the laptop at the hospital now, and he is in recovery right now. They still can't get the bleeding to stop fully, and he is losing so much blood so quickly that is blood pressure is dropping dramatically. Right now, the doctors say they are donig every thing they can, but there is only a 50/50 chance he will live. It is now about ten minutes later. I had to stop for a while because the doctor came out to talk to the family, me, and the rest of his riends here. He is conscious, and answering questions and is tellling them the day of the week, what month, year, social security #, and locker combo, but he is still losing a lot of blood, and they can't replace it fast enough with out stopping the bleeding. There is still a 50/50 chance. Please, please just give a little prayer for him if you get a chance. It would mean a lot to his family, friends, and me. I will keep you all updated.
