Switchbacker
hey guys, just wondered how everyone is making out. It seems like the action gets worse as the days go by. Im wondering if the cause of this is the partially warm weather or the amount of deer being killed year after year. Ive gone to stands which have shown presented me many bucks over the years during this time of year, and not seen anything. Any kills/ action? anyone having the same problems? Hoyt03
Re: fellow Pa hunters Not too far from you over here in Carlisle. The last two days deer movement has actually been very good. Saw three young bucks yesterday and like 20 does today. Things are still ok here in PA if you have private land to hunt on. If your limited to public land I feel your pain because public land isnt very good around Cumberland and Adams counties. I have killed 2 so far this year all on private ground with the bow, no antlers yet. Gluck and dont give up, things are starting to get hot. Hunt hard till the end
JPGS22
Re: fellow Pa hunters Hey switchbacker, I had some awesome luck this year. I've pattened this buck's movements will trail cams in the warm weather and I was finally able to take it. But I think your right the warm weather is killing the hunting this year. This buck was taken in Centre County. [image][/image] [image][/image]

LifeNRA
Re: fellow Pa hunters Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I saw a HUGE RACK buck Saturday morning right on the main road coming through Fort Indiantown Gap! At least 10-12 points, the his tines were at least 10 inches high! Just before we seen that buck a respectable 8 pointer was standing along the road near the airstrip. 10 yards off the main road! But when I was in my tree stand all I seen was a spikey and three does. None of the does came close enough to offer a shot!

buckbuster11
Re: fellow Pa hunters Its been pretty slow the last week for me too. I saw 4 bucks on Saturday and those were the first bucks I have seen since two weeks prior, and I havent seen one since then. Almost whacked one with the car this morning though. Switchbacker
Re: fellow Pa hunters ok I spoke too soon, this morning I saw a few bucks and a decent 8 point being one. Hoyt I never hunt public land, this was going on within all of the approx. 1000 acres of farmland I have permission to hunt. seems like it will kick in here soon. buckbuster were you hunting on the gaps acreage? My unit for the gaurd is located there. Im headed there this weekend for drill. just wondered where you saw them.

007hunter
Re: fellow Pa hunters Yesterday morning I went out. Boy was it windy!! I thought for sure I wasn't gonna see a thing but I stuck it out. First a button buck was milling around then a doe came through. While I was watching them two a half rack snuck behind me and went up the hill. He had a nice rack on him atleast 4 maybe 5 on his one side. I get down a lil after 9 or so. Walked down to a open field mixed with pines and I am standing there for about a minute a nice 8 point comes running out about 60 yards away. I am grunting and bleating to him but I don't think he heard b/c of the wind or else he just wasn't interested...So I am seeing some deer, just not as many. snapper
Re: fellow Pa hunters I took a 9pt. the first morning...so I haven't been out as much as I usally would be. Went out last Sat. and seen 6 different bucks...all traveling around searching for does. Two were good shooters...kinda wish I would have held out a little bit longer...lol.
