Re: BowtechUnleashed!!!!

It came down to Bowtech or go with another Mathews. After shooting my old mathews for 9 years, I decided to get a new Switchback this year. Maybe my next bow will be a Bowtech. I agree, they make great bows!! Every model is 15-20 fps faster than a similar Mathews.

I know everybody has a different preference but bowtech makes some great bows fellas you gotta givem credit........

Like TSBH said, a bow is a bow, all bows are good, the best bow is the one you shoot.

I rather shoot a smooth bow and silent bow than a fast bow anyday.

Re: BowtechUnleashed!!!!

It's neat that they have several camo choices. Hardwoods HD is my favorite. grin.gif But, they really need to get rid of those fugly silencers.

Check out the specs on the new Tribute. Sure it is really fast, but look at the ATA and brace height. At 31 1/2" and a 7 1/2" brace height and parallel limbs, it is stunningly close to the 2004 Mathews Outback. grin.gifwink.giftongue.gif Just had to say it. grin.gif It'll be a pretty nice bow.

Re: BowtechUnleashed!!!!

It is a pretty cool website.I got a pretty good deal on my Liberty last year and have no complaints with it.Every year these companies come up with some awesome new bows.I don't even shoot new bows unless I'm in the market, for fear I'll have to explain to the wife why I need to upgrade. ooo.gifThat Tribute looks like a pretty nice piece.Wonder what they'll go for?

I'm ready to see a new ~37" bow come out. I'm tired of these stubby little 'kiddy' bows

Have you had a chance to try out an Outback or Switchback yet, Ryan? I really liked the length of my XTEC last year, which was 35 1/2". My Switchback actually holds better and shoots better at all distances and is only 33" ATA. The super long riser (which makes the limbs parallel) sort of "tricks" the bow into shooting like a much longer bow.

15-20% louder too don't forget

Yes, they are sweet looking and yes they are fast, but I'll take the smooth, quiet Mathews over the barn burning rattle trap anyday smile.gif

OK, I must be missing something. I've owned 4 Bowtechs in the past 3 years(I shoot one for competition and one for hunting). Repeatedly I've had people comment on how QUIET my bow is. Even the PRO 40 I used to shoot which sounded like a cannon going off to me because I was used to my super quiet hunting setup. My new Allegiance is easily the quietest bow I've ever seen. I have no problem with Mathews, but I haven't noticed any Mathews bow being noticeably quieter. I may be in the minority, but it seems to me that with the push towards parallel limbs all the new bows from several different companies are all equally quiet.

Re: BowtechUnleashed!!!!

I don't know about the Bowtech line of bows so I'll not comment on them. I do however have a real problem with them using the soldiers as a selling point. Last time I checked they don't hand out free bows to the soldiers they are "HONORING" nor do they donate all of the proceeds to these same soldiers. I bet a vet pays the same as anybody else but they get none of the discounts of an employee. I don't mean to **** but I don't like people pulling on the heart strings for profit. If you are raising money for charity, then I see the need but not to sell a product. JMO

I checked out the Bowtech site and seems they are contributing some proceeds to veterans:

"But the noblest feature of the Tribute is its role in raising funds for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). A Tribute is more than a word or name. It's a core value that guides action. Therefore, in a tribute to the men and women serving in our armed forces, and to recognize their great sacrifice, BowTech will contribute a portion of proceeds from the sale of every Tribute bow to TAPS. This non-profit Veteran Service Organization offers comfort, support and assistance to hundreds of American families each year who face the tragedy of losing a loved one serving in the Armed Forces. BowTech will also include a "PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS" camouflage wristband with each new Tribute. For more information regarding TAPS visit www.taps.org"
