well the story goes..... i had a scent bomb out with some bcuk fever bf-rut. a guy a 40 behind me shot his gun from 2:30-3:45 he must have shot a whole box. once the shooting stops i rattle and fallow that up with some grunts from the true talker. at 4 i see movement to the west it was a buck...a shooter. he comes in nose to the ground. he stoped behind me and turned around. i thought he had me peged. but the he turned again to the north. he was with in 10 yards of my scent bomb whitch was 20 yards from me. it was like he was circling me. i see a opening in front of me, i draw and wait, he finally gets there i stop him with a mouth grunt. the shot is away crap it looked like the shot was forward...sholder blade??... im shaking so bad right now i cant get down. i wait till 4:30 to go look for blood. i find good bright red blood no arrow though. i back out and wait for a couple of my buddies to come and help me track it. they get there we gave it 2 1/2 hours which in hind sitght probably wasnt enough but with the blood i had i thought for sure he was dead and plus i was sooo pumped. so we start tracking, we had awsome blood im talking puddles for 200 yards then it became drops for a long way. finally we got to a fence line and walked out to the road to go ask the land owner if we could continue tracking. they said it was cool so on we went another quater mile it jumped another fence and we lost blood by this time it was 8:30 pm things were looking bleak... then one of my buddies on hands and knees found a speck im talking pen tip big drop of blood and that led to more blood.. the chase was on again..at 9:15 we took a break for a min. and out of no where we hear a crash and then a grunt. a buck was chasing a doe 50 yards in front of us in the dark. was it my buck??? like they say on csi thats not what the blood was telling us so we went on our way following the blood. up a head was a creek and i was hoping that it didnt cross it... but it did. the good part was we found blood on the other side right away. then the yotes started howling, that was kinda freaky in the woods with a head lamp and a mini mag and yotes howling but a 100 yards away...anyways....we followed the blood some more through the woods till that same creek came back meandering through the deers trail.. and thats where we lost blood. it was 11:30 by the time we lost blood so we called it a night and were to regroup at noon due to work and school. we meet back there at 12:30. now in the day light we go back to our last blood. and try to figure out what way this deer went out ot the creek. nothing for 45 min and then my buddy finds a drop 50 yards from where we thought he cam across. it turns out he followed the edge of the creek. so we were on him again tracked him another 40 yards and he crosses that god for darn creek again!!!!!! i thought for sure he was gone now. we found next to nothing on the other side it was all tall grass and kinda swampy. so we all split up on our own trails then my buddy yells i got em and right away i think blood. i run over there and there he is my deer!@!!! after around of hugs and a huge weight lifted off my shoulders there was my deer. the moral of this story is never give up on your deer get help and keep searching we tracked this deer for 8 hours over 2 days and countless hunched over miles, ok maybe not countless but a couple.... anyways thanks for reading this and sorry for the rambling and bad grammer:)
