Help selecting a good digital camera?

Sony, JVC, and Panasonic are all good names. They each have models that range from about $275 to more than you care to spend. Your editing will be done on a computer, not in camera. Adobe Premeire and Studio are among the better editing software.

I've got a panasonic digital and it's way to noisy to use to film bowhunts.

I'm looking for one that's quiet.

I just bought the sony dvd92. It has a 20X optical and it is quiet. The only thing I dont like is the manual focus. I have to use the touch screen to set it. But to be honest I have not needed the manual focus yet. I like this one because you can re-write on the CD's. So if you dont like the shot just write over it like a tape. It is very small also so it fits in my backpack better. Mine cost $545 at Sears. It will take still shots also. My last sony lasted a long time and took a beating. I dropped it from the tree 3 times and it still worked after. Twice from 25 feet and once from 20 ft in which it tagged the ladder on the way down. It did not like the creek that I dropped it in. It worked after I dried it out but some water got behind the lens and It looked like fog when I taped anything.

I have a Sony Mavica 1000 It write to a CD

& a Sony Mavica 400 It writes to a CD.

each has good features. I can Crop On Both but it is easier on the 1000.

The 1000 is 2.1 Meg Pix

while the 400 is 4.2 Meg Pix

easier to crop on the computer but longer download time to where ever.

the 400 can use CD-RWs,

while the 1000 uses Only CD-Rs

Just got the 400 Last week.

I can do movies on both (1 Minute on the 1000)

Don't know on the 400 yet.

I like the CD Storage about 200 Picture HQ for less than .25

I have the CDs forever.

a flash card you Download & Erace it, then hope your computer NEVER CRASHES.

i would say going with a sony. there camera are really nice and wont let you down...i have hunted with it before and no complaints....best of luck to ya
